  7.  ║    CUT n' PASTE                                                          ║
  8.  ║                                                                          ║
  9.  ║    This utility is very handy.                                           ║
  10.  ║                                                                          ║
  11.  ║    Here are the two keys you will use:                                   ║
  12.  ║                                                                          ║
  13.  ║    <Alt> <C>   for CUT                                                   ║
  14.  ║    <Alt> <P>   for PASTE                                                 ║
  15.  ║                                                                          ║
  16.  ║    What this means is this:                                              ║
  17.  ║                                                                          ║
  18.  ║    You 'snapshot' a picture of any section in a database and move        ║
  19.  ║    the photo to another database, even a 'cell' in a spreadsheet.        ║
  20.  ║                                                                          ║
  21.  ║    You can take as many pictures as you wish. Each snapshot is placed    ║
  22.  ║    in an album from which you can remove a print and place it elswhere.  ║
  23.  ║                                                                          ║
  24.  ║    You can also take a snapshot from within the word processor then you  ║
  25.  ║    can PASTE the picture anywhere you choose to paste it anywhere.       ║
  26.  ║                                                                          ║
  27.  ║    Your album will contain as many pictures as you took at the time you  ║
  28.  ║    you took the snapshot(s).  But once you remove (PASTE) a picture      ║
  29.  ║    from the album it is gone.                                            ║
  30.  ║                                                                          ║
  31.  ║    Procedure:                                                            ║
  32.  ║                                                                          ║
  33.  ║    Use this concept first.                                               ║
  34.  ║    You have a sample .DSC database named CUSTPHON                        ║
  35.  ║                                                                          ║
  36.  ║    Purpose: To access more than one name and phone number relative to a  ║
  37.  ║             Client I.D.                                                  ║
  38.  ║                                                                          ║
  39.  ║            Starting at the Client Db Press <M>                           ║
  40.  ║            You are at Client I.D.    Press <Alt> <C>                     ║
  41.  ║            This window appears:                                          ║
  42.  ║                                                                          ║

  44.  ║                      ║    Cut  "PCUSER"    ║                             ║

  46.  ║            You have cut a snapshot picture of this field and you want    ║
  47.  ║            to Paste it in CUSTPHON                                       ║

  51.  ║              <U> (Use)                                                   ║
  52.  ║    Enter:    <CUSTPHON>                                                  ║

  54.  ║    Press:    <A> (Append) (same as Add)                                  ║
  55.  ║    Press:    <Alt> <P>                                                   ║
  56.  ║    Press:    <F2> (Save)                                                 ║

  58.  ║    Here's how you would use CUT n' PASTE to get at all the phone         ║
  59.  ║    numbers of a Client record fast. Of course this applies to any        ║
  60.  ║    relative database you design.                                         ║

  62.  ║    Procedure:                                                            ║
  63.  ║                     "CUT" the Client I.D. as per above.                  ║
  64.  ║                     At CUSTPHON                                          ║
  65.  ║                     Press <S> (Search)                                   ║
  66.  ║                                                                          ║
  67.  ║    At Client I.D.   Press <Alt> <P>  (PASTE the picture)                 ║
  68.  ║    When you PASTE   You get:                                             ║

  77.  ║    Pressing F2 brought up all the PHONCALL records.  If more than one    ║
  78.  ║    Press <Page/Down> to view.                                            ║

  80.  ║    If you design a Macro you can move to the User designed Db by:        ║
  81.  ║                                                                          ║
  82.  ║    1.    Start at Client Db                                              ║
  83.  ║    2.    Press <F7>, <Alt> <F1>, <Esc>, <A>, <D>, <U>, <F7>              ║
  84.  ║                                                                          ║
  85.  ║    What you did:                                                         ║
  86.  ║                                                                          ║
  87.  ║    You set the Macro Function Key to F1,                                 ║
  88.  ║    You pressed Esc to leave the Client Db,                               ║
  89.  ║    You moved to Additional,                                              ║
  90.  ║    You selected Database in Additional,                                  ║
  91.  ║    And finally you brought up the window.                                ║
  92.  ║                                                                          ║
  93.  ║    Now you can install PHONCALL.                                         ║
  94.  ║                                                                          ║
  95.  ║    You could have carried your Macro steps on to include PHONCALL        ║
  96.  ║                                                                          ║
  97.  ║    When you CUT, you can CUT more than one field to expedite moving      ║
  98.  ║    fields from one place to another.  The 'Album' holds all until        ║
  99.  ║    you 'PASTE' them in position.                                         ║
  100.  ║                                                                          ║
  101.  ║    If you want to export 'Cell' numbers from the spreadsheet you can.    ║
  102.  ║    "   "   "    "   "       "     "      to   "    "          "   "      ║
  103.  ║    but first use the (') to Paste, then get rid of (') with Delete.      ║
  104.  ║                                                                          ║
  105.  ║    You will find considerable use for CUT n' PASTE                       ║
  106.  ║    Practice several time to get expert at this procedure.  Once you      ║
  107.  ║    get the procedure down you will be able to move from the Master       ║
  108.  ║    Client Db to the other databases you created very quickly.            ║
  109.  ║                                                                          ║
  110.  ║    Remember - you can also cut and paste on editor line. Try it.         ║
